2017 is here….

NEW THING HAPPENING…

Wow..it’s been two months since I last posted. I can only say that I’ll try to do better this year.

I’ve made a few changes at the shop going into the new year. My plans are to go more into of the hippie vibe in creations and just a total HIPPIE feel at the shop in general.

posative-vibrations

The front room is to be more in line of an artist gallery. I now have several artists showing their work here. I’ll be sewing less but more fanciful pieces when I do…something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

Also…I’ll be working with LMilby Art + Design in creating a line of products using high quality essential oils…right in the shop.

Also we will be having evening classes into Spring…beauty make overs..paper bead making..painting..etc…

For now..until..

CornBreadShirt

CornBreadShirt…’Hard and crusty on the outside but soft and sweet on the inside.’

I am using mostly men’s shirts to create my CornBreadShirts. My finished pieces are loose comfortable and easy to wear. This particular shirt will be in a shop in KY.

BOHEMIAN COAT

MODEL: L.MILBY

Bohemian Coats are fun to create and this lovely took a cotton hoodie and two dress to come to life. By hand stitching the whole piece I was able to give it a bit more character because I used black crochet thread and all the stitches are irregular and uneven….

Latest update: I have been asked to create a line of children’s wear for a local shop and that is underway.  I will be using ‘TeaBags’ as the tag for this line of one of one creations.

…..until next time.

Apocalypse Child

In the process of a little shakeup on my Etsy.

I am now wandering the wastelands looking for Barter Town….

Slowly adding pieces in tatters and grunged to show off what I typically do everyday but with a twist…and it makes me quiet happy.

I have also had a request to create more of my children’s Tea Bags pieces to put in a new sop in a neighboring city.

I will add photos of those later on.

Until next time…have a great life.

LATEST PUBLISHING

 PUMP MAGAZINE

The latest issue of Pump will have these two pages included.

We were at an aged home of Civil War history for the day, in a small town in North Alabama….with ties..to a ghost or two. The top floor rooms were very decrepit but PERFECT for what we all had in mind for the shoot.

There was a wonderful group of talented people in their separate fields that came together  for a long day’s work of creating several styles in hopes of having some of the photos included in magazines such as PUMP.

I had never met the photographer Martin Howard or the two beautiful models Elianna Jane or Leilani Jade until the day of the shoot. Martin was fun to watch as he got the models to pose as he wished and the models would stand for several minutes at a time in a pose that was not natural by any means..and never complained. I got tired just watching…lol

There were several out buildings around the property that we were able to use and incorporate into the photo session. The fresh Spring grass was grown up a little high so it made one wonder what was lurking behind that tree with vines twisted and hanging..but it was in good fun. I personally didn’t see any ghostly apparitions…bummer.

The make-up and hair stylist..or.MUAH..in the professional field was Noelani Flannagan.

You can find more of her work on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/YouniqueNoelaniFlannagin/

Fingers crossed that more photos taken that back in the late Spring will find their way into other magazines.

LAND GIRLS

 Prairie child…..

Leilani Flannagin is daughter if Stylist and MAU Noelani Flannagin. She had been modeling several years and it shows.13076587_10209487590090225_556400911193167666_nWitchy Woman? I asked to give us an evil eye and I think she did just that.

This photo shoot was a great experience for me as I got to see it through the eyes of all involved. Everyone was very professional, the photographer Martin Howard drove up from Mississippi for a couple different shoots. He was very exciting to watch, even laying in the floor to get just the right angle.

Noelani Flannagin-Styles Plus was the MAU and as you can see she did a wonderful job! She gave the 2 models different looks but still in keeping with my ideas for the photos.

Model Elainna Jane has wonderful posing ability and very easy to work with. Her cheek bones and long slender neck really gave my creations the total look I was wanting.

We walked into the woods where there very several  early 1800’s out buildings. The surrounding trees are trying their best to pull these little buildings to the ground. But, the scene made for a great photo session.

Elainna Jane is modeling 2 separate outfits. One is a top with a vintage netting vest, pantaloons, a handmade and tea dyed halo, one of my necklaces and a tarot bag. The other outfit is a dress with over blouse, pantaloons and a necklace.

We were in a run down Civil War house, the walls were bare with slats showing, windows missing….and…reported ghosts. 😍

The long dress is actually a vintage velvet bedspread and the large flower…I created from tissue paper.

The very creative dress and headpiece was created by Noelani Flannagin of Styles Plus. Her work is in lots of magazines…Vogue Italia http://www.vogue.it/en/ just to name one and I got to collaborate with her!

Photographer Martin Howard is well known in his field and I am greatly honored to be allowed to spend the day with the whole crew.
